Shepard, Geoffrey C.

Geoffrey C. Shepard served on the White House staff for five years during the Nixon administration. [6, 7] He began as a White House Fellow in 1969 before joining the Domestic Council staff in 1970, where he became an Associate Director in 1972. [7, 10, 11] During the taping period, he was involved in domestic policy and later became a key figure on President Nixon's Watergate defense team, where he served as a principal deputy to lead lawyer J. Fred Buzhardt and personally helped transcribe the White House tapes. [1, 5, 7]
