Allen, George E.

George E. Allen was a lawyer, businessman, and a friend to several U.S. presidents, including Richard Nixon. During the Nixon administration, particularly during the taping period, Allen did not hold a formal position but acted as an informal advisor and friend to the President. His conversations with Nixon in the Oval Office and over the phone were captured on the White House tapes between November 1971 and December 1972.
