Warren, Gerald L.

Gerald L. Warren served as Deputy Press Secretary to President Richard Nixon from January 1969 until Nixon's resignation in August 1974. During the White House taping period (February 1971 – July 1973), Warren assisted Press Secretary Ron Ziegler by developing facts for briefings, answering press inquiries, and managing media logistics for presidential travel. As the Watergate scandal escalated in 1973, Warren increasingly assumed the duty of delivering the daily press briefings, effectively becoming the administration's principal spokesman.
