Chapin, Dwight L.

Dwight L. Chapin began his service in the Nixon administration as a Special Assistant to the President in January 1969, a role in which he acted as the President's appointments secretary. During the taping period, he was promoted to Deputy Assistant to the President in 1971, where he continued to manage President Nixon's schedule and travel arrangements. His responsibilities also included the crucial task of supervising the advance team for presidential trips, such as the historic visit to China, before he left the White House in March 1973.
