Gordon L. Allott was a Republican Senator from Colorado who served throughout the entire Nixon administration. During this time, from 1969 until he left the Senate in January 1973, Allott was the Chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee. In this capacity, he worked to align Republican senators with President Nixon's policies and served as a key communication link between the White House and the Senate Republican conference. He was defeated for reelection in 1972.
