Andrews, John K., Jr.

John K. Andrews, Jr. served as a staff assistant in the Nixon administration from 1969 to 1973, initially working in the Press Office before transitioning to the speechwriting team. During the taping period (February 1971 – July 1973), he was a key contributor to domestic policy rhetoric and was frequently recorded in the Oval Office discussing speech drafts and presidential messaging. Andrews became notable for being the first White House staffer to resign in public protest over the Watergate scandal, leaving his post in December 1973.
