Price, Raymond K., Jr.

Raymond K. Price, Jr. was a prominent speechwriter and trusted confidant in the Nixon administration, known for his moderate political views and elegant prose. He initially served as a Special Assistant to the President from January 1969 to February 1973, taking on the additional role of Director of Speechwriting in December 1970. During the White House taping period, Price stepped down as chief speechwriter in February 1973 and transitioned to the role of Special Consultant to the President, a position he held until August 1974, when he famously drafted Nixon's resignation speech.
