Atkins, Oliver F. ("Ollie")

Oliver F. ("Ollie") Atkins served as the personal photographer to President Richard Nixon and the Chief Official White House Photographer from the beginning of the administration until Nixon's resignation. During the White House taping period (February 1971 – July 1973), Atkins extensively documented the presidency, capturing thousands of images of Nixon's daily activities, Oval Office meetings, and historic 1972 trips to China and the Soviet Union. As head of the White House Photo Office, he was responsible for creating the primary visual record of the administration and frequently interacted with the President and his senior staff.
