Kennedy, Richard T. (Col.)

Richard T. Kennedy was a career U.S. Army officer who served on the National Security Council staff under Henry Kissinger during the Nixon administration. He began his White House tenure as Director for Staff Planning and Coordination in October 1969, a role he maintained as a civilian after retiring from the military as a colonel in 1971. In April 1973, Kennedy was promoted to Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security Council Planning, a position he held through the remainder of the taping period and until January 1975.
