Agnew, Spiro T. (Vice President)

Spiro T. Agnew served as the 39th Vice President of the United States throughout the entirety of the Nixon White House taping period, holding the office from January 1969 until his resignation in October 1973. During the administration, Agnew frequently acted as the White House's vocal surrogate, delivering polarizing speeches aimed at political opponents, anti-war protesters, and the news media. Despite his high public profile and re-election on the 1972 ticket, Agnew was largely excluded from Nixon's inner circle and major policy decisions before ultimately resigning in disgrace due to a bribery and tax evasion scandal.
